  I was there on Monday this week. The process of visa application was quite fast and the officer's helpful and friendly. The place is also clean. However, after my documents were scanned and my biometric data were taken. The officer handed back my documents to me. He said I could keep them. I was a bit confused. I thought they would take and submitted my original documents (hard copies) to UKVI headquarters in Manila. Maybe someone here can explain.. Thank you..

  I don't understand why embassies opt to use this VFS service. Two years ago we applied for European visa via VFS. Everything was in order, except for my father's photo. We used a slightly older photo (about 8 mths old). We explained that my father had just had eye surgery and cannot take photo with flash. He had an eye patch! They didn't care. They didn't want to take responsibility. They can see that my father's face was the same as the photo. But they just said "well, it's not our problem if the embassy refuse visa". We asked, can you put down a note to explain the problem. We can even get medical letter from the doctor. "No". So my father had to take the photo at the risk of ruining his just-out-of-surgery eyes. The second time is today, my sister went to the VFS for Canada. We are one family of 6 applications. We did the application online and now we just need to submit passport. She took the number and yet were skipped by MULTIPLE people with 2-3 applications. She was treated like tour agents who had 20 applications which are not yet filled. After waiting for almost two hours and making a complaint about it, then they let her submit the passport. NOTE that we have already done application online, we have paid for the visa, and all they needed to do was to RECEIVE PASSPORTS. They didn't need to check the forms anymore, it was all already done and finished! Something that could've been finished in 10 minutes took 2 hours. Also, when we had questions about online applications, they couldn't answer anything, not even a phone number that we can call to ask (We know they don't know about the visa process, but at least they can tell us who we can call?). We have to pay CAD22 to them!! For doing nothing but sending the passports to the embassy and wait for the passport to be returned. I really don't know why they're there in the first place if they can't even help with anything other than just receiving forms that are already filled, with the amount of fees given to them!

  One place to handle most visa requirement for european countries. Place were spacious and clean. No camera allowed inside the premise

  Firstly, VFS Global is just a visa handling and visa payment service, that is appointed by the embassies of each nations. VFS Global never have any input whatsoever on the visa decision. They only collect the documents and do the biometric input. They do check documents for completeness at times, but it is not their main service. They also will not check whether your documents are strong enough or whether you need additional documents to clarify. For that it is better to check to the website of each nation, or pay travel agents to do that for you. The passport center is clean and well lit. Most of the staffs I met are very courteous and helpful. They will also advise on things, which is really good. Security is tough and you need to make appointments before you can enter the area. The appointment is part of the process in creating your visa application. They also have overpriced photo and photocopy services, try to avoid those. The service is quite fast. The speed of the visa application could not be attributed to VFS as it depends on each country. But the process from starting to document submission to biometric processing is quite fast. They have very clean bathroom, and the seating is good. But the seating outside is really terrible, as no seating is available for people who wait outside. A great visa processing center.
