Very clean room and showers, staff was very accommodating and can arrange taxi to airport. Right across street from GG Mangos

Lovely clean rooms, we were in a private, and were delighted to see there was a sink in the room (saving us carrying toothpaste, face washes, etc up to the showers one floor up). Breakfast was simple, but nice and the kitchen facilities are basic, but enough to make sandwiches, noodles, coffee, etc. Location is good, and the staff are very kind. Would stay here again! Only qualm is that the TV in the room didn't have many channels in focus, and the Wi-Fi could be a bit patchy, but when we called reception they restarted it each time.

My family and I stayed in the Packer Lodge our first few nights in Jakarta. It's a nice base of operation, within walking distance of Kota the Old Dutch Quarter, and with easy bus transport to the Monas. The rooms are fairly small and basic, and there is no outdoor space or balcony (or even windows) but it's clean, the staff are very nice, and the price is right.

Pluses - Good location, everything was very clean, breakfast was good for the price, showers were very hot with good water pressure! Sink in the room was a nice touch, and the AC was great! Minuses - The walls are somehow thin enough that you can hear people hanging out in the lounge area at night but thick enough that wifi doesn't travel through them... We couldn't connect to wifi in our room. I think that as a hostel in a shared dorm room, this place would have been great, but we had a private room so it was very tiny, and just so so.

I'm very suspicious of the number of glowing reviews for this place. It's a pretty firm "decent." It's clean and nicely decorated. Walls are super thin and no one seems to be around to shut up drunk backpackers as midnight rolls around. The internet is horrendous. In 4 days here, I don't think I was able to maintain a connection for more than 10 minutes. Location is pretty far from anything resembling a city center (despite what a couple of reviews to the contrary claim). Private room was absolutely tiny. Had to go to another floor for a bathroom.
