This place was used to be a garden section of Aceh Royal Palace Complex before razed to the ground by Dutch invader in February 1874. Later on Dutch colonial authority used it as a park. After independence in 1945, the new authority maintain the function of this section of land as a park in the city center. After 2004 tsunami, The City Authority converted it into a playground with many new structures built in it.

Taman Bustanussalatin aka Taman Sari aka Taman Ghairah. There is a stretch of park from Baiturrahman Mosque southwards. 1. Former Atjeh Hotel. 2. Park (small size in front of gateway) 3. Bustanussalatin Monument (it is more of a Gateway to me) 4. Bustanussalatin Park (big) 5. Proclaimation of Indonesian Independence Monument 6. Taman Sari Kantor 7. Park (small) Formerly this park was used by the royalties but now it has been a public spot. Currently this park is undergoing extensive renovation and is closed to public. 5 Oct 17.

I visited here last Sunday. And there happened to be a Turkish Sunday market or campaign on that day. We went Taman Sari after we visited Uncle K in the Suzuya Mall. It was pretty hot on that day but it poured rain after we visit the Grand Mosque. We first park our motorbikes in the Taman Sari part, and then we walked through the park, and we saw the newly-build out look. Then, we continued walk through the field and visit the Grand Mosque just across the street. After around half an hour in the Mosque, we walked back and the Sunday market just gathered more and more people. And it started to rain.
